Brandy Godsil is a North Carolina and New York City based fashion designer, couturier, and on-set tailor. With a creative eye for custom tailoring, design, pattern making, and innovative textiles, Brandy has fit and tailored high-end garments for celebrity appearances such as Cher, Finneas, Hellen Mirren, John Krasinski,Michael B. Jordan, Ethan Hawke, Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Paul Rudd, Bryan Cranston, red carpet events, Met Gala, Oscars, Golden Globes,NYFW, editorial, and catalog photo shoots.
Brandy received her BFA in Textiles and Fashion Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. After graduating in 2009, she moved to NYC and began apprenticing as a tailor and shirtmaker for bespoke menswear companies. She completed a pattern-making apprenticeship with Nicolas Caito Atelier and worked as a designer and couturier for many brands such as MARNI, Givenchy, Zam Barrett, Dolce & Gabanna, MICHAEL KORS Collection, ETRO, and Miller's Oath.
She completed the Advanced Fashion Design study abroad, Intermediate Fashion Design Portfolio course, and Experimental Fashion Design online course from Central Saint Martins and the Program Summer abroad from Parsons School of Design in New York.
Brandy completed the Ós residency at the Icelandic Textile Center in May 2023, and a two week textile residency at Texere in Oaxaca, Mexico in January 2023.
She is co-founder and advisor of non profit weaving arts organization Intertwine Arts where she teaches weaving, fiber arts, and sewing to people with disabilities around the U.S.
